Jessie Viray wants JessieViray.ca to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technology, keyboard-only navigation, or browse at a larger zoom level.
Our target
This site's accessibility target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. We've audited the site against that target — including automated testing and manual keyboard, contrast and zoom/reflow checks — and correct issues we find as part of that process. This is a self-assessment against our own project target, not an external certification or a guarantee of complete, error-free compliance at every point in time.
What we've built in
- A skip link to jump straight to the main content
- Keyboard operability for navigation, forms, cards and links, with a visible focus indicator
- Text and interface colours checked for sufficient contrast
- Layouts that reflow at larger zoom levels and on narrow screens without losing content
- Form fields with properly associated labels, and errors that don't rely on colour alone
- Support for reduced-motion preferences
Ongoing effort
Accessibility is something we keep working at as the site evolves, not a box checked once. If a new page or feature is added, it's checked against the same target described above.
